Red Redemption are pleased to announce that they have been successful in two DEFRA Climate Challenge Fund applications.

The first is Operation: Climate Control (Climate Challenge 2) will produce a multiplayer version of our Climate Challenge game which we are currently developing for the BBC.

This version of the game will be focussed on school children studying for Key Stages 3 & 4 in England and will give them a chance to take on the roles of countries in an attempt to tackle the challenges of climate change together.

We are producing this game in partnership with the Yigal Allon Educational Trust (part of the Stone Ashdown Trust ) and the Oxford University Environmental Change Institute. Operation: Climate Control will launch in February/March 2007 and run for 12 months.

The second bid, of which Red Redemption are a consortium member is Oxfordshire Climate-X-Change. The Oxfordshire Climate-X-Change will create a campaign for the county’s 620,000 citizens. Volunteer ‘climate explorers’ will engage with existing groups to take climate change issues into the community. The groups will include schools, youth clubs, community groups, parish councils and local businesses.
